Kevin Bateman

Partner - MRICS, FAAV, MBIAC P.Agric (MIAgrM) PgDip(REALM).

Kevin is a qualified Chartered Surveyor, Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers, a member of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants, The Institute of Agricultural Management and The Agricultural Law Association. Kevin specialises in a number of professional practice areas including Landlord and Tenant issues, farm business management, environmental stewardship schemes and planning matters. Kevin is Secretary of the Western Counties Agricultural Valuers Association and an Examiner for the Western Counties Examination Group. Kevin is also Southwest Chairman of the Tenant Farmers Association and a Farmer Panel Member of the Agricultural Lands Tribunal (ALT).

Kevin, the son of a Head Forester, is a tenant farmer on the National Trust’s Killerton estate, where with his wife Julie and children Olivia and Emily, run a flock of 700 ewes a herd of Devon suckler cows and a herd of Exmoor ponies.  In his spare time he still runs out on the rugby pitch and has the occasional game of cricket.

Sarah is a qualified Chartered Surveyor, RICS Registered Valuer and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers.  Sarah has particular experience in undertaking professional practice work including land and property valuations, compensation, landlord and tenant negotiations and planning work.
Sarah lives in Lympstone in East Devon with her husband and their two young children and golden retriever Spartan, who take up all of her spare time!

DudleyClare Campbell

Trainee Surveyor.

Clare is currently on a placement year from Reading University where she is studying Agricultural Business Management and she hopes to go on to study a Masters degree in Rural Land and Business Management.

Clare lives on a tenant farm with her parents in South Devon and is an active member of her local Young Farmers club. In her spare time Clare often travels to Europe to help her brother compete in International Carriage Driving competitions, she also enjoys riding her ex-racehorse Dirk.

David Hosegood

Consultant - FAAV.

David is a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers.  He is the third generation of his family in this business, following on behind his grandfather, Stanley, and his father, Jack.  He began his professional career with Bruton Knowles in Gloucester, returning to the family business on Exmoor after the 1967/68 Foot and Mouth outbreak.  He has been working on Exmoor and the surrounding area ever since.

Outside work his interests include hunting, shooting and point to pointing where he is well known as announcer covering 10 point to points from Mendip Farmers in March to Exmoor Foxhounds in June.

peter coker consultantPeter Coker

Consultant, BA (Hons), BArch.

Peter has 8 years experience working as a design consultant and has quickly developed an approach which incorporates sustainable design, whilst
meeting the needs of clients. He is trained as a Part 2 Architectural Assistant and has completed a number of projects ranging from agricultural buildings to rural barn conversions. Peter is experienced in completing planning applications for a variety of uses.

Peter joined Bateman-Hosegood as a Consultant and his experience and knowledge of design provides a valuable asset to the firm.

Peter has a passion for designing property which is sympathetic to the environment. He is knowledgeable of modern construction methods and strives to delivery sustainable cost effective buildings.

In his spare time Peter enjoys being out on the land with his family business and coppicing his own woodland.

Gail WattsGail Watts

Office Administrator.

Gail has over 25 years’ experience working within administrative rolls starting out as a clerical assistant for BT, she then moved into the banking world before taking a break to have her two children. She returned to work as office manager for a property development company.Gail is now working as Kevin’s Personal Assistant and being Devon born and bred has good knowledge of the local area.

Her weekends are often spent watching her son playing rugby for Cullompton RFC or driving her daughter to various equestrian events.  During any spare moments she enjoys socialising with friends or country walks with her crazy Labrador.
